English enables you to communicate easier

GENERAL TRAINING READING TASK

5 Key Points To Remember

1.Read the questions before you read the text. This will help focus your mind on what you are looking for.

2.Underline words that stand out to you as important. This will help you get a general idea of what is being talked about.

3.So, where do you find the topic sentence? Usually, it’s the first sentence of a paragraph, but it can also appear at the end. It’s the sentence that expresses the main idea of the whole paragraph. Topic sentences are easy to recognize because they sound like they’re announcing what’s coming next. Something like “There are many advantages to using intranets in companies nowadays” is the topic sentence of a paragraph that’s going to discuss advantages of intranets. To maximize your time, look for it in the first sentence, then the second one and then the last one. Do this while you’re reading.

4.Checkout if you can find a prep buddy nearby and schedule study sessions this will make you feel competitive and motivated at the same time.

5.Develop a good vocabulary to not get any surprises in the exam. Having a good vocabulary means having knowledge of the meaning of the words, and this will help you in knowing where to place the words exactly to form a better answer.
